Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance

All Students in year groups 7-13 receive comprehensive Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance to support their education and personal development so that by the time they are ready to leave Whickham School they have had the information and support necessary to move on to the next stage of their journey.

2020/21 Careers Programme

An overview of the 2019/20 Careers programme is available here. Please note, however, our programme is not static and we seek to confirm and add additional opportunities during the year.

Current restrictions due the Covid-19 pandemic mean our ability to deliver physical encounters in school or external experiences with employers and workplaces may be temporarily affected.  However, we continue to work with our suppliers, partners and supporters to develop a new way of working to enable us to continue to deliver enriching encounters and experiences to our students via alternative channels.

For further information please contact the school’s Careers Leader.  Our Careers programme is updated annually and an updated programme will appear on the website in September 2021.

Monitoring & Assessment

The careers programme is monitored internally as part of your review and reflection cycle. In addition, our delivery is monitored against the statutory Gatsby benchmarks.
